Stop Me Before I Vote Again

For ambitious liberal politicians, a servile acceptance of Orientalism and the Middle East neocolonial agenda is a rite of passage, just like Chomsky-bashing and frantic backpedaling from socialism is for ambitious liberal academics. They both prove their "seriousness" to the decider class that way.

Ma Scorpion's strength versus Obama in this is a contemptible eagerness to push even more Palestinians under the bus. But I have hopes for the senator from the great state of Illinois. He's no slouch. He'll find a way.

Sometimes a scorned lover will say,"I'm the one he/she really loves, It's that (expletive of gender) keeping us apart." You never really know if they're more than friends until you see them on Cheaters. But it sure is interesting watching someone else orchestrate unfounded facts for personnal gain. Radio DJ's yesterday were continuously playing Ma' "I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here." Not as pathetic as the bowl off speech but it still represents the most dire of desperate times?

I'm actually a bit nonplussed over the unwavering fealty to Israel by someone like Barack Obama. If Obama were to start vocalizing his commitment to an even-handed approach tomorrow, what would conceivably happen? Would Hillary all of a sudden surge ahead in the polls? Would liberal Jews go out and vote for McCain to spite Obama? I guess my point is that this isn't even rationale anymore (rational in the sense that not supporting Israel could create for one insurmountable electoral difficulties). What does he have to lose? I mean not that it matters - as far as I'm concerned he sold his sold for copper coins back when he forcefully insisted on Israel's "legitimate right to defend itself" as it indiscriminately bombed Lebanon the summer before last - but still...

Progressive Democrats are like abused spouses--too afraid too leave even though they'd be better off on their own, and constantly trying to reassure themselves that their abusive spouse really does love them. Both situations are quite sad and tragic--but unfortunately for the rest of the world things aren't going to get better until we kick the Dems to the curb.

He'd take a whipping in the corporate media, y-m-y. Like "health care," "Israel" is merely a symbolic test. One either professes fealty to the system's masters via these tests, or one admits one is "irresponsible."

hear, hear, Nicholas. We're IN ourselves or we're FOR ourselves, as the old Moor put it. No one ever said it was going to be easy, or that people would spring to our side overnight. But we certainly need to try a lot harder to build an independent political leadership than those who want to reject the prospect overall would have us do. And those who continue to stiff-arm the effort are going to get a hell of a lot more of us killed if they don't start learning to widen what few openings there are for political leadership based in the working class majority and its allies in the very near future. These "democratic" phonys mean to kill us just as surely as the "republican" ones do, and to those who still don't believe that, I give you as evidence the U.S. debt service economy, New Orleans, Iraq and Palestine.
