Clash of the titanobores! Toni Morrison, as noted here earlier, "stunned herself" (nt to mention the rest of us) with fluent but poorly-edited panegyric of Barack; and now comes Maya Angelou...
... emitting some equally embarrassing doggerel for Hillary:
State Package for Hillary ClintonRead the whole thing, if you haven't eaten seafood recently, here:You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise. This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen....
She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace.... Rise, Hillary.
Rise.
Maya, Maya! Call yourself a poet, and you couldn't even keep the ballad stanza going for more than one quatrain? Even I think Hillary has deserved better than that. Two quatrains at least.
Much to enjoy here, but the very best, perhaps, is the notion that Hillary will be a promoter of "courtesy." And well she may, come to think of it -- in the sense that our NYC cops intend when they emblazon the word on their smoked-glass SUVs.
And of course, the idea of Hillary rising "like dust" is perhaps suggestive in ways that Maya didn't intend. Damn dust! Where the hell is that humidifier...?

Great foto of Angelou, Smiff; love how's she's looking too goddamn' serious for words, while The First Black President yuks it up in the background. What's worse, though, is...isn't Maya Angelou supposed to be a Nobel Laureate in Literature, some kind of American Literary Giant? Jayzus.
But, aaaaaanyway...
...I know I'll catch some flak for this, and perhaps I don't even have the right to ask because I haven't lived their lives, and I may have even asked this here before, but...I see this kind of shit going on, this mindless, gushy, slobbering idolatry, and I compare it to the real record of the Donkeycratic Party in my own lifetime, and I can't help asking myself: What is the goddamn' deal with Black America?
I mean, it's like I said -- I didn't grow up as a young black kid in the '60s and '70s, didn't have to deal with the shit my black friends in school -- and their parents -- had to deal with back in the day, but still -- I've never quite seen a group of people in this country lately who've been more thoroughly pandered to, betrayed, backstabbed, shit on, and yet still more than willing to go back for more abuse from the outfit doing the pandering, betraying, backstabbing and shitting*. It's like a battered wife who's been beat up and told by her husband that she's got noplace else to go for so long that she really does believe she's got noplace else to go, so she stays with the sonofabitch who's beating the shit out of her every night.
...and the more I think about it, the less I can resist the tempation to jump up and ask out loud, to all of Black America at once: "WHAT the FUCK is UP with y'all, man??"
*except, of course, for the current-day US peace "movement", but that's an entirely different rant...

Hey, Fluge.....what 'cha mean by "y'all", man???
Neither Toni Morrison or Maya Angelou speak for all Black folk...and they certainly don't speak for this Black man, whom has long since left the Donks for more Leftist pastures.
But....quick memo to Cynthia McKinney: Please, no poets in your upcoming campaign.

Oh, I was totally aware that neither Morrison nor Angelou spoke for anything even remotely close to all of Black America, and that BA isn't even remotely close to a single monolithic bloc, but when I see wheezers like Morrison and Angelou (especially) falling all over themselves for Hillary, and the CBC knocking itself out to avoid laying a finger on President Chimp for any number of impeachable crimes and following meekly behind the DLC despots, and I see media-attention-sucking vortices like Jesse Jackson and Barack Obama and the aforementioned ilk being held up as examples of "Black Leadership", it just makes me want to jump up and scream "For the love of Gaaahhhhdd! IS THIS ALL WE'VE GOT? Somebody, anybody, call 'bullshit' on this crew!" ...uhmm, y'know?
