Rice says single women can understand ramifications of warMilitary feminism! This is a new, original thing -- and of course, it's coming out of California, as most new, original things have done, in my lifetime.Condoleezza Rice let out a heavy sigh when asked Saturday whether as a single woman with no children she had difficulty appreciating the ramifications of war....
Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., told Rice during a testy Senate hearing on Thursday that without an immediate family Rice will pay no personal price for the Bush administration policy in Iraq....
Boxer's comment came during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing in which Rice was questioned about President Bush's new war plans.
"Who pays the price?" Boxer asked Rice. "I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young. You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with immediate family.
"So who pays the price? The American military and their families."

I don't know what Boxer is going on about. With brave "antiwar" legislators like her the Iraq Bloodbath is sure to extend for years and years. Surely long enough for one of Condi's family to find him/herself getting shot at in Anbar.

I think her clumsy innuendo was an attempt to pander to the elusive Family Values demographic.

YEEEAAAHHHHH!! Cat fight! CAT FIGHT!!
But, seriously, folks... I may be the odd guy out here -- hell, I'm used to that -- but I think Senator Babs may have somehow managed to blurt out the right thing at the right time to the right people.
Condolee-ee-ee-zza Rice does, in fact, have no children to worry about losing in the slaughter in Iraq, nor any husband, lover or close family members I know of eligible for "service" so she can, in fact, make these horrendous decisions knowing she has nothing to lose.
Condolee-ee-ee-zza will never have to worry about seeing that small gaggle of soldiers in Class A's showing up at her door with the news that her son/daughter/husband/boyfriend has died for lies in Iraq.
Condolee-ee-ee-zza also happens to be one of a large mob of people making equally horrendous decisions who either evaded military service or hid out in the Air Guard during the Vietnam Era. Not a goddamn' one of them, to my knowledge, ever found themselves having to take up a gun, go into the jungle and kill and be killed and finally, somehow, Senator Barbie has managed to summon up the balls to tell on of that mob to her face.
Besides, this plain raw truth seems to have struck one or more raw exposed nerves in important places; witness the media reaction. You can say what you want about Senator Barbara "In The Clearing Stands A" Boxer, and you'd be right -- but you have to admit she's done at least something right when the entirety of the US Media rises up and, in unison, howls like a stuck pig -- much as they did when Hugo Chavez got up in front of the UN and spoke the plain raw truth that needed speaking. I caught about twenty seconds of Charles "Sauer" Krauthammer on MacLaughlin's program today, seething and railing against these "ad hominem" attacks against his beloved Madame Secretary and man, was it friggin' hilarious.
In fact, I think this shit needs to happen more often. I suppose in principle I should be angered and disgusted, but I can't help thinking that there is, in fact, nothing more amusing and entertaining about hearing the US Media shrieking like they were being murdered everytime somebody publicly calls bullshit on US "leaders".
Really, gang, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm flat-out enjoying watching these assholes freaking out whenever somebody pushes their buttons. Let's see more!

I'm with Mike. I'm all in favor of the "family values" pretense squad being gut-punched by anyone who has the nerve to do it. Who can forget the halcyon days of Liddy Dole looking down her nose at Hillary for not being Woman Enough ?-- even though it was Liddy Herself who had "stolen" a married man away and then had failed utterly to produce any children for him. The reason this bullshit piles so high on a regular basis is that nobody has the stones to try and kick it over. Feminists wedded to the DP regardless of what it does are almost as bad when cornered, but not quite.
I'll grant you that it's all just convenience store beef jerky masquerading as a nice plate of homemade brisket, but when you're hungry for a little entertainment, you'll chew on any damn thing and call it food.
Now if only I could rig up another cage match between Scruggs and his favorite Professor.
Over to you, Mike.

Aggghhh. Man, old Tom really does look like an old acid head from Frisco, doesn't he? Sadly, I don't mean that in a good way, here.
Hell, I'll bet Jerry Garcia looked better the day before he died than Tom Lantos does now, in what I can only assume is a relative state of good health.
