Billmon's been on fire recently, but more in quantity than quality. He's always been this good, though occasionally slow to drop the Democrats or demand immediate withdrawal.

If I thought the campaign against Lieberman were really part of a larger effort against the Dem establishment, I'd agree.

But my gut feeling tells me its actually part of a campaign to scapegoat one member of the Dem establishment to save the rest.

The same people who are going after Lieberman still worship Al Gore, even after Gore decided not to fight the stolen election.

I may be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. But something about people who are pissed about some Green taking 50,000 bucks in PA and are doing their best to ignore the destruction of a whole country just doesn't feel right.

I could see the defeat of Lieberman as positive. It looks like that has a good chance whether I do or not. He's managed to wreck his image substantially. Lamont would make all the liberals feel much better about themselves.

I can't see his primary victory doing much good unless he also loses the election. The Clintonistas would shed a few crocodile tears for Joe and then work on integrating Lamont into the club. I give that three seconds of struggle, if there's any at all.

I can dig where Billmon's head is at. It's like you wake up one morning to find that every liberal you knew has been replicated and replaced during the night by an imitation liberal "progressive."
