I am so enjoying the spectacle of the Democrats trying
to be anti-war and pro-war at the same time. Today
it's Howard Dean's turn in the barrel, giving
Ms Pelosi a well-earned break.
On Monday, the ex-medic said "The idea that we're going to win this war is an ideal that unfortunately is just plain wrong." Today?
"It was a little out of context. ... We can only win if we change our strategy dramatically. ... We want to serve our troops well. They're doing a fantastic job in Iraq.... [Bush] is going in the wrong direction. We'll go in the right direction and save soldiers lives while we're doing it... We can and we have to win the war on terror."God, how I love watching 'em squirm. They're caught between the public and... whom?

So you want us to lose, then? That makes a lot of sense.

Here's the thing: Dean's right. War on terrorism != war in Iraq; victory in either might be possible without Bushco but is totally impossible with Bushco.
It's sort of a subtle point.

With wafflers like Dean in charge, you've lost before the race even begins. They have already capitulated to their supposed opposition.
